While there are great benifits from using Social media, This can also lead to issues and many of these can be directly atributed to post which are not relevent or needed, the drunken one at the after party is always regerted

Private and personal accounts are realy your own and as sutch you personaly can be held to account for anything posted on them,

The bigger issue is if you are responcible for a club account then you are responcible for what ever anyone with access posts as well.

The National Cyber Security Centre has this simple advice

  • Think before you post. Assume that what you post will be shared and read by anyone. Not just your followers what if they repost it ?
  • Think about who can see what you share and manage your privacy settings accordingly. If some one leave a private group how quickly can they be removed and who tell the administrator.
  • Maintain appropriate professional boundaries if you communicate with colleagues, members and the public
  • Do not post confidential or identifiable information.
  • Do not post inappropriate or offensive material.
  • Use 2-step verification (2SV) to protect your accounts.
  • Understand your digital footprint.
  • Spot and report fake accounts.
  • Be aware of social media and children.
  • Be aware of copywrite and make sure you are allowed to post your immages
  • Get permision to use photos

So think before you post and is digital always the best way
