The Scottish Community Drama’s One-Act Play Festival 2026: is a much-loved theatre tradition and the climax of the Association’s centenary year. The festival presents eight short plays over three nights,

Thursday 23rdto Saturday 25thApril 2026.


The eight plays are the best of Scottish community drama; all having won through from District and Divisional rounds of the festival held over the past few months.


The plays were adjudicated by Walker Ewart from Northern Ireland, who will choose


88 Theatre- A Beginner’s Guide to Madness by Barry McKinley

Edinburgh Graduate Theatre Group- Medea by Euripides (Tr. Ian Johnstone)

Buccaneer Theatre- Breaking & Entering by Mark Davenport

Broadsword Theatre- I Dream Before I Take The Stand by Arlene Hutton

Stranraer Drama Club- Jilted Lovers Helpline by Johnny Grim

The Wee Perthshire Dram-a Company- A Thousand Invisible Choices by Keith McKenzie

Bon Accord Players- Metamorphoses by Sami Ibrahim, Laura Lomas and Sabrina Mahfouz

Lochcarron Drama Club- The Allotment by Gillian Plowman

Special congratulations to Bon Accord Players who will now progress to represent Scotland at the British Final at the Theater Clwyd, Mold, Wales - where they will be performing first on Saturday 4th July 2026.

We would love to see as many of you there as possible as Bon Accord try to bring the trophy back to Scotland.
