SCDA Scottish Youth Final 2022

To be held in June  2022 at

The Regal Community Theatre


Situated in Bathgate, West Lothian. Designed

as a cinema in 1938 by The Leven-based

architect Andrew David Haxton, in the Art Deco

style building. The Building is a Category B

listed structure due to the plasterwork by

John Alexander.  

The entrance front faces south and has five bays.

It is decorated with plasterwork, colossal

pilasters and stylized keystones. The outer,

two-storey elements stand out in particular,

with the colourful-lettered REGAL logo

adorning the façade. The building has a

flat-roof structure. The three-storey theatre is

located on North Bridge Street,

There is about a 15minute walk from the railway (conecting Edinburgh to Glasgow Queen street)

and a good local bus service


Ample car parking (free) is avalible to the rear of the venue the entry is via a narrow residential street, Mill road, this may cause issues for larger vehicals and they are advised to use the Waverley street entrance
